I believe there's a boundary between "fine" and "commercial" art, though it is porous and made of intention. Everything I make informs and enriches the whole. My personal artmaking is an ongoing quest motivated by curiosity and the need to explore and grow. I've been showing the results in galleries since 1986; see my cv
I also enjoy the satisfaction of communicating ideas visually and the collaborative nature of working with both the written word and art directors. From book covers and interiors to logos and greeting cards, I've been illustrating for clients since 1991, including Harper Collins, Chronicle Books, Llewellyn Worldwide, Horticulture Magazine, Jeremy Tarcher, Stewart Tabori & Chang, and Warner Books.
